Solar Power Purchase Agreement

Solar power at up to 30% less, with nothing to pay upfront

A PPA gives you the savings of solar without buying, insuring or maintaining the system.

How a solar PPA works

We design, fund, install and own a solar PV system on your property. Instead of buying the equipment, you buy the electricity it produces at a contracted tariff that is up to 30% below what you pay the municipality or Eskom. Any power you need beyond what the solar system supplies still comes from the grid as normal.

Your tariff escalation is capped at a maximum of 6% a year, or lower if municipal increases are lower. Because grid tariffs have historically risen faster than that, your saving tends to grow every year of the agreement.

What's included

  • Feasibility assessment, including 4 weeks of on-site data logging
  • System design, structural sign-off and all equipment
  • Municipal or Eskom SSEG application and AMI smart meter installation
  • Installation, electrical CoC and Pr Eng commissioning report
  • Monitoring, maintenance and repairs for the life of the agreement
  • Optional battery backup for essential loads

Is a PPA right for you?

PPAs suit organisations that spend R15,000 or more a month on electricity and use most of it during daylight hours, such as schools, businesses, farms and wine estates and body corporates.

PPA or buying a system?

Buying a system means a large capital outlay, plus the cost and risk of maintenance and repairs. With a PPA you keep your capital, we carry the performance risk, and you start saving from the day the system goes live.
