What is a solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)?
A solar PPA lets you use solar power without buying the system. We fund, design, install and own the solar PV system on your property. You buy the electricity it produces at an agreed tariff, up to 30% below what you pay the municipality or Eskom.
Do I pay anything upfront?
No. There is no capital outlay, no installation fee and no maintenance charge. You pay only for the solar electricity you use.
Who owns and maintains the system?
We do. 8m20s owns the system and handles all monitoring, maintenance and repairs for the life of the agreement.
How much can I save?
Solar electricity under a PPA costs up to 30% less than municipal or Eskom rates. Because the solar tariff escalation is capped, the gap usually widens every year. Kommetjie Primary School is projected to save R21,000 in year one and about R2.2 million over 20 years.
